About Module 3

Module 3 comprises of two guided audio explorations that invite us to deepen our connection to the natural world.

These are:

Being accompanied: Allowing the more than human world to keep you company

You Belong: exploring our sense of belonging in the natural world.

Instructions

  • Ideally, you would take some undisturbed time in nature to do these. It could be in a garden or park, but the more immersive the better.

  • Allow at least 10 minutes per exercise and up to 30 minutes.

  • Each one can be done alone or they could be followed in a sequence on one outing. (If they are done together feel free to skip the first “arriving” part of exercises and go straight to the main exploration)

  • You may wish to take a journal along with you to support your reflections .

  • Feel free to adapt and make them your own to suit your situation.

  • And feel free to repeat them if you like!

Technical guidance

I would recommend downloading them to your phone so they are available to play offline. If you are using an iPhone you may have to load them through itunes or save them as a file to play later. Having them downloaded means you will be able to listen to them without having your phone online and you will not be disturbed

Alternatively you can stream the exercises form this page but you will need to have an active data signal wherever you go.

A reminder

Like all group guided processes, what is offered may not fit with how you are in any given moment. Let the words resonate and see what happens, and if I am going faster or slower than your process, let my words go and follow your own process. You can pause whenever you wish or return to the exercise later

If you are aware of something distracting you, be sure to acknowledge that rather than trying to push it away. What we push away gets stronger!

If strong emotions are touched in you, your job is to be with them. Tears are a sign that you have found something important. You can move a gentle hand to the place in your body where there is something sad, or overwhelmed, or whatever. Let it know that you are with it.
